Evening Long Course
Questions about the group evening PACES course format, content, and access.
Each course includes up to 40 carefully selected, high-yield PACES scenarios,
covering Long Clinical Cases (LCCs), Clinical Communication, and Short Cases. Rather than
teaching isolated cases, the focus is on developing structured clinical approaches that can
be applied confidently across a wide range of PACES stations. By the end of the course,
you will have worked through the most commonly encountered and exam-relevant scenarios.
Absolutely. Being a listener does not mean sitting quietly. You are encouraged to
ask questions, discuss cases, and clarify concepts throughout the course.
The aim is to create an interactive learning environment where every participant benefits,
regardless of their role.
The course is continuously updated using recent PACES recalls, current examination
trends, and newly encountered cases. It provides comprehensive preparation for
Clinical Consultation, Clinical Communication, Long Cases, and Short Cases. Candidates
attending multiple courses are exposed to new clinical material, with every effort made to
avoid unnecessary repetition.
Yes. The course is designed for both beginners and experienced candidates.
If you are starting your PACES journey, you will first learn how to approach cases
systematically, before progressing to the level of clinical reasoning and performance
expected by PACES examiners. More experienced candidates benefit from refining their
examination technique, presentation style, and clinical judgement.
We understand the demands of clinical practice. If your allocated case conflicts with your
work schedule, simply let us know. Wherever possible, we will rearrange your case
slot to minimise disruption to your duties.
Yes. If you would like to experience the teaching style before registering, you can request
a complimentary sample recording through the WhatsApp link on this website.
Course timings are planned after considering the availability of participants from different
countries and time zones. Every effort is made to choose timings that are convenient for
the majority of candidates.
Yes. Every live session is recorded, allowing you to revisit important
discussions at your own pace. Recordings remain available for 10–15 days
after the course and can be extended if required.
Yes. Although the programme is designed around MRCP (UK) PACES, the
structured clinical approaches and examination techniques are equally valuable for candidates
preparing for MRCPI Clinical Examination and FCPS (Medicine).
Many doctors preparing for these examinations have attended previous PACES Pathfinders
courses with excellent outcomes.
Premium Exclusive Mentorship
Questions about the one-to-one individualised PACES mentorship programme.
This mentorship programme is ideal for doctors who want individualised
preparation for MRCP (UK) PACES or the MRCPI Clinical Examination. It is
particularly helpful for candidates who wish to strengthen their clinical reasoning,
communication skills, differential diagnosis, examination technique, or overall
examination performance.
Unlike group teaching, every session is designed around you. Your
strengths, weaknesses, learning pace, and examination goals determine the content of each
session. Time is not spent revising topics you already know — instead, we focus on the
areas that will make the greatest difference to your performance.
Yes. Sessions are arranged around your work commitments, duty rota, and family
responsibilities. This flexibility makes the programme particularly suitable for
busy clinicians and candidates living in different time zones.
There is no fixed duration. The programme is tailored to your level of
preparation and examination timeline. Some candidates require only a few focused sessions,
while others prefer a longer programme covering all PACES stations in detail.
Yes. Every session concludes with structured, personalised feedback.
You will clearly understand what you are doing well, which areas need improvement, and
how to continue progressing before the next session.
Yes. Whether you are preparing for PACES for the first time or have previously attempted
the examination, the sessions are adapted to your individual needs and learning goals.
There is no standard number of sessions. The required teaching depends
on your current level, previous PACES experience, and examination date. Following an
initial assessment, a personalised learning plan can be discussed.
Teaching is based on high-yield, examiner-focused clinical material,
incorporating recent PACES recalls, updated examination trends, and real-life clinical
scenarios. The emphasis is on developing the clinical thinking and structured approach
expected in the examination.
Virtual Mock Examination
Questions about the virtual PACES mock examination format, assessment, and recordings.
Each case is assessed using the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) marking
criteria. You will receive detailed written feedback explaining your performance,
highlighting your strengths, identifying areas for improvement, and showing how marks are
awarded in the actual PACES examination. These feedback sheets provide a valuable record
of your progress.
Yes. Listener places are available for candidates who wish to observe the examination
process and learn from the performance and feedback of other participants. Recordings
are also provided for later review.
Yes. All mock examination sessions are recorded and remain accessible
for 10–15 days after the course. Access can be extended if required.
The Virtual Mock Examination provides complete coverage of all PACES
stations, including:
Clinical Communication
Clinical Consultation
Cardiology
Respiratory Medicine
Neurology
Abdominal Examination
The focus is not simply on completing cases, but on helping you perform with the
confidence, structure, and clinical judgement expected by PACES examiners.
